Onezhskiy LDK modernization project ( Investlesprom Group) got priority status

On January, 10, 2012 in accordance with the Order # 1 of Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, “Modernization of JSC “Onezhskiy LDK” sawing business” ( Onega city, Archangelsk region, Russia) investment project got state support and priority status in the sphere of forest development.
The project provides for upgrading of sawing production at JSC “Onezhskiy LDK” ( part of Investlesprom Group). Besides saw mill modernization, a logging company is expected to be founded in a new allocated forest fund.
After the project implementation JSC “Onezhskiy LDK” will increase its annual production volume by third : sawn timber– from 200 thous cubic meters up to 270 thous m3; industrial chips – from 174 thous m3 to 229 thous m3. Project investments will amount to almost 311 mln rubk, term of implementation- 16 months. The most important condition for the project implementation is arrangement of its own logging, for this purpose within the frame of this project, the Government lets JSC “Onega LDK” on long lease forest lands with annual allowable cut of some 335,8 thous m3, without any auction , at that. With the aim of improving profitability and stability of the enterprise a 0,5 coefficient to the established rates per cubic unit of forest resources will be used during the project payback period, that is a bit over three years.
Our reference. Onezhskiy LDK is one of the oldest wood processing enterprisse , tracing its history since XVII century. The newest enterprise’s history totals 100 years: in 1911 timber mill “Daljniy” was founded by Norwegian Bake and Swede Vig at the site of current LDK. Since 1998- JSC “Onezhskiy LDK”, since 2007- part of Investlesprom Group. Man products : sawn soft timber of Scandinavian grading, industrial chips, round timber. Main consumers – big wholesale companies of West Europe and Middle East, as well as JSC “Segesha PPM”(also part of Investlesprom Group). Some 700 employees work at the enterprise.
