“LWC KAMA” project is successful no matter how external environment changes

On December, the 1-st, 2011. The International Forum “Publishing-Printing industry branch of Custom Union, papers and boards market 2011: challenges and prospects“ was over in Moscow. Some 100 leaders and top-managers of branch associations, Russian and foreign publishing -printing and paper sectors, pulp-and-paper industry of Russia took part in the Forum, as well as representatives of branch mergers and enterprises of Belorussia , Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The Forum organizer is the unity of paper wholesalers of Russia with support of Federal press and mass communication agency of RF and leading branch public organizations of Russia , Belorussia , Kazakhstan.

The issues of customs tariffs regulation of paper-printing market of the countries, Custom Union members, were in the focus of the Forum. During the discussions integrated assessment of 5% import custom duty for some coated paper grades was made, reasons were given for the necessity of introduction 5% duties on continuing basis and overall abolishing of import custom duties for these and other grades of printing coated paper and board.

Sergey Novikov, deputy marketing director of JVC “Investlesprom” “Pulp-paper production” Division, presented in his speech production characteristics and paper grades manufactured within “Light-weighted coated paper of JSC “PPM “KAMA”project, he told about positioning these papers in the market and strategic policy of forest industry Holding “Investlesprom” The aim of the project is manufacturing of 85 thous/y LWC, domestic market entrance and partial replacement of imported products. The company perfects technological process to reach world level of quality. Its own engineering developments based on birch raw material utilization are implemented in the project. The equipment has the first in Russia short circulation system for quick reconfiguration, which allows to produce different paper grades over short time. This is a strategic advantage letting provide consumers with custom-made paper.
