Test printing is successfully carried out on first Russian LWC

On November, 14, Investlesprom Group was provided with an official opinion letter in respect of the results of trial printing tests that were carried out by JSC “Polygraphic complex “Pushkin square” specialists. As a test sample was used the first Russian 75 g/m2 light-weighted coated paper that was manufactured on new paper machine at “KAMA” PPM ( part of Investlesprom Group) on November, 3, 2011.

Tests results stated in the official report were commented by Sergey Novikov, deputy marketing Director of Investlesprom Group “Pulp &Paper” Division: «Paper quality is high. There are no defects in the paper samples, the paper is characterized by high quality sheet formation, whiteness, opacity, there is no foreign color tint ; tested paper is very much similar to paper of leading European producers by majority of its characteristics ».

The results of the printing on the first paper reels surpassed expectations- there are hardly any cases in world practice when the first lots of paper produced on a new paper-making machine immediately would meet customers’ quality requirements. Alexey Kononov, “KAMA” PPM production director, points out that it was achieved through new innovative technology, developed and patented by Investlesprom experts. Birch raw materials are used as a base for light-weighted coated paper manufacture for the first time in the world. This technology was tested and optimized in Finland in 2010. As a result technological method was relatively quickly implemented on new PPM at “KAMA” PPM. At the first stage of implementation of the project aimed at replacement of imported coated paper, some 85 thous t per year of LWC will be produced.
