LLC “Segezha Packaging ”’s branch in Saransk: the fire aftermaths are smoothed over

 At the moment the investigation is still being carried out. Investigators are supposed to finish their work by the end of this week. By the firemen’s preliminary version the fire was caused by carelessness, other versions are not excluded. According to chief administration of MCHS in Mordovia production building of over eight square meters and about one thousand meters of the roof of administrative building were destroyed . As the buildings and equipment were insured specialists of insurance company are also engaged at the moment in estimating fire damage.

- Lilya Zhigalova - director of “Sack division” of JVC “ Investlesprom” explained: The damage caused by the fire has stopped the work of the plant. However I can say with certainty that not a single customer has suffered, all orders will be fulfilled completely. Some of them have been quickly removed to other production facilities of Segezha Packaging, particularly to Segezha. I’d like to point out that all our customers took the situation with understanding . Some relocated the orders, other changed the time of delivery, but nobody broke long-term cooperation with our company. According to Lilya Zhigalova, local authorities render support and also display understanding. Vladimir Suschkov, Saransk ‘s mayor, and Vladimir Mozov, the Minister of economy of Republic of Mordovia, visited production site that was damaged by the fire and offered necessary assistance. The officials of the city and Republic are interested in the soonest possible rehabilitation of the plant.

- Already on the 22-nd of August top managers and technicians of Segezha Packaging arrived to discuss next steps regarding the plant, - Lilya Zhigalova added. – We speak about possible alternatives daily at the meetings. And it is already obvious that no matter what scenario “saranskiy” 2012 volume of finished products will not decrease , the orders will be delivered to the customers. There are three alternatives of further development , all of them are feasible and will be discussed in details at the meeting of Segezha Packaging at the end of August when production and sales plans will be developed.
