At PPM “Kama” (Investlesprom Group) a new BCTMP department was launched

Manufacture of pulp at a new production site in Krasnokamsk (Per’mskiy krai) means that the enterprise’s technologists and Investlesprom company managed to produce high quality semi-finished product based on birch raw materials( traditionally spruce and pine are used for manufacture of BCTMP).
Startup of the department took place without any complications. The majority of the targeted characteristics have already been achieved as of today: whiteness, extent of refining, strength properties. Till new light-weight coated paper-making machine #7(PMM 7) is put into operation, BCTMP made at new department will be used for manufacture of plump offset paper at PMM #1.

Provision of light-weight coated paper (Light Weight Coated, LWC) manufacture was initiated by the managements of Inveslesprom Group and “Kama” PPM in autumn 2007. The project named "LWC-Kama", - the first in Russia for creating such a production is aimed at meeting demand for coated papers and replacing the majority of imported similar products from Europe and Asia; as well as adoption of new technology and using of low-grade birch pulp more actively in production process. After start of operation production capacity will be of some 86 thous t of paper per year. Volume of investments for this production complex foundation was over 5 bln rubl.
