The Government of the Archangeljsk region and JVC “Investlesprom” concluded cooperation agreement

Cooperation agreement between the Government of Archangeljsk region and one of the biggest forest industry structures- Joint venture company “Investlesprom” -was signed. JVC “Investlesprom” is represented in the territory of the region by Onegzhskiy LDK and a few logging enterprises, logging company “Ustjales”.
— We are mostly interested in our enterprises’ provision with forest fund and also in foundation of new productions engaged in felling and profound wood processing. Still one shouldn’t forget about serious social responsibility of enterprises of forest industry complex , — underlined Ilja Mikchaljchuk, the governor. The main emphasis in the agreement is made on the development of JVC “Investlesprom”’s timber industry activity with consideration of the region’s interest, secured the company’s obligations concerning manpower policy, social-labour relations and ecology. JVC “Investlesprom” takes responsibility not to increase tax debts and other debts to consolidated budget of Archangeljsk region, to carry out investment projects, included in priority list in the sphere of forest development, to increase production capacity. So, the agreement includes arrangements concerning plans of modernization of “Onezhskiy LDK” sawmill and logging enterprises as a priority investment project in forest development.
Thereupon, Dmitriy Maslov, JVC “Investlesprom” general director, said: «We are the first in Russia to conclude such an agreement beneficial for all parties. And we are especially happy to be engaged in business in the region of such great potential».
Beside, in the frame of cooperation with the Government of Archangeljsk region JVC “Investlesprom” is ready to render assistance to administrations of municipal regions in providing inhabitants with firewood.
The key provisions of a signed agreement were arrangements about involvement of the company in investing infrastructure projects of Archangeljsk region and forestry projects that are not financed from the budget as part of the company’s forest fees. These funds will be used for objects of social-economic status, their provision, construction and renovation.
