OJVC “Karelia DSP”

OJVC “Karelia DSP” is one of the largest enterprises of wood processing industry of Karelia. This is a modern production, equipped by German equipment “Kare Schenk” and lamination line of “Dieffenbaher” firm. Its first product, uncoated particle board, was produced in 2001. In 2002 laminated particle board production was launched.

From the very beginning the enterprise counted on high quality board output. There were all preconditions for that: the most modern equipment, the latest technologies, qualified personnel. Specialists of “Jaakko Poyry consulting” (forest industry enterprises’ auditing) company made a conclusion that the set of equipment installed at Karelia DSP enterprise is a unique one.

Laminated particle board production involves use of only qualitative materials of leading global and domestic producers. All of them, starting from resin till decorative film, pass through a thorough selection made by enterprises’ specialists who are constantly in search of solutions to improve qualitative characteristics of the board without price increase.

Karelia DSP is an example of successful application of western specialists’ achievements in the field of ecological safety of industrial objects. This is an enterprise of a new pattern. The equipment and technologies that are used permit to ensure a high level of ecological security.

In particular due to “Scheuch” (Austria) filters the used air is fully purified (up to 99,9 %). Another installation removes dust from water steam at wood drying. As a result more than 99% of dust is caught. Closed cycle is used at every stage where it is possible.

Karelia DSP Management realizes its responsibility for environment protection assuming quite concrete meaning: ecology and life quality are inseparably connected with each other. For modern dynamically developing enterprises, as Karelia DSP is, this approach is a rule rather than exception.

Particle board is made by hot press method (chips and sawdust with synthetic resins). Operational properties of a particle board depend on density, shape and size of wood particles as well as on quantity and quality of binding agent. There are boards of different density: very small (350-450 kg/m2), small (450-650 kg/m2), medium (650-750 kg/m2) and high (700-800 kg/m2). Laminated particle board is a polished particle board laminated by decorative melamine film.
