Fiberboard production

Fiberboards production was started at KDP Novaya Vyatka on September, 2001. It is equipped with modern German equipment “Bison” firm, part of “Kvaerner” concern, and is a warrantor of high consumer characteristics of a wooden board.

HDF production by means of hot pressing at West German technological equipment “Auma” has a range of obvious advantages before the traditional in Russia damp way of fiberboard production:

-         Safety and ecological compatibility: urea-formaldehyde resin is used as binding agent instead of phenol-formaldehyde one, that permits to get a board of European class of E1 issue;

-         Continuous ribbon lets shaping boards of any size at consumer’s requirement. Thus off-cuts and small size boards quantity decreases;

-         High consumer characteristics of the product: smooth surface at both sides, uniform density and thin structure along the whole thickness of a board, stable sizes;

-         Full automation of the board production process almost excludes the possibility of waste and low-grade board.

Fiberboards produced at KDP Novaya Vyatka due to its ecological compatibility are widely used for living space arrangement:

Doors. Fiberboard doors between rooms are distinguished by low price, wide décor choice, easiness to produce and mount as well as low weight at maintenance of good soundproof properties. It is an ideal solution for new building-projects, residential and public buildings, production and auxiliary premises. Among advantages of doors coated by fiberboard there are wearability and capacity to withstand different mechanical damages – splits, scratches, ingress of moisture.

Wall panels. Fiberboard panels is a perfect sheathing that is applied for coating of framed partitions, walls, and ceilings of residential rooms: offices, apartments, country houses, public and medicine institutions. They are durable and safe for health of a human being that becomes more and more meaningful factor of choice in present conditions. Fiberboards panels are easy to use and permit quickly change the look of any room. Among competitors there are such firms as Fritz Egger Spanplattenindustrie GmbH & KG (Germany), Bespan (Poland), BS (Germany).

Furniture. Fiberboard (incl. MDF) became in the last decades the most popular material among furniture producers and their clients thanks to its optimal physico-mechanical properties. Depending on the thickness and type of finish Fiberboard is used for production of internal and back sides of furniture and for facades. Also fiberboard is widely used f in inbuilt furniture production that is becoming increasingly popular among Russians.

Packaging. The strength and light weight of package from fiberboard, moisture and temperature difference resistance along with its low price make it the best choice for producers of any goods.

Fiberboard is an effective and ecologically clean material that found its application in residential buildings construction, production of furniture, motorcars, carriages and radio technology. The boards are easy to process and mount. They are strong, durable, water resistant and have valuable sound and heatproof properties. High density (850-950 kg/m3) permits to use these boards in laminated floors and wall panels. Depending on the type of protective-decorative covering these boards with its low cost can replace solid wood, plywood, plastic, glazed tiles.

Fiberboards are divided by density into extra-hard (950 kg/m2), hard (850 kg/m2), semi-hard (400 kg/m2), soft insulating and finishing (250 g/m2) and insulating (250 kg/m2) boards. They are made by hot pressing of uniformly grinded and resin-treated wood pulp. Grinded wood chips serve as raw material for fiberboard. Fiberboards are divided by production method into moist and dry.
