OJVC “Karelia DSP”: Due to products demand growth, major repairs were realized in tight terms

From May, 20 to June, 5, 2010 machinery overhaul was made at OJVC “Karelia DSP” (settl. Pindushi, Karelia).

Executive director, OJVC “Karelia DSP”, Andrey Kochetkov tells: - In the wood yard and laminating workshops and also at the principal conveyor a thorough and complete repair was implemented as well as recovery and adjustment of the equipment. This will not only ensure the stability of further work and manufactured product’s quality but also will minimize costs, will exclude resources over-expenditure. Scaled work was implemented at the drying sector of the wood yard, at chipper’s equipment, main conveyor’s transporters – this will also ensure a long-term and continuous exploitation, products’ quality preservation, close-downs decrease.
The fact that many works were done in overhaul periods of 2008-2009 contributed to shortening repairs’ period.
The overhaul was realized in tight terms: the enterprise needs to increase production, to meet the revived demand. At present a full stock of orders has been formed for June - July. The trends that outlined in recent time let hope that in several months the plant will achieve projected parameters of products output. We plan to switch to the work in four shifts. We will take on additional personnel.
At the same time OJVC “Karelia DSP” is switching to direct contracts of raw materials supply to the plant, and it is purchasing wood transporting equipment. Self-dependent raw wood supply requires an additional enrolment of timber truck drivers.
