On the instructions of Russian Government Sokol was examined for readiness

Representatives of the mono-cities modernization workgroup under Russian Government with its chief, Irina Makieva, at the head visited Sokol on April, 26. The objective of the visit was to get acquainted on the spot with the readiness of the city and three city-forming enterprises to start the realization of scaled investment projects and to specify necessary financing volumes for that from the side of the government. Sokol is among 27 pilot mono-cities that will get an extra assistance from federal budget.

(…) In the top three One thing — a nice presentation of complex plan for Sokol modernization, even if with clearly prescribed projects and adjusted figures, it’s quite another matter to see it by one’s own eyes. So the chief of the workgroup, deputy chairman of Vnesheconombank, Irina Makieva, was taken first there where all presented investment projects will be brought to life – to city-forming enterprises – Sokol’sky (…) PPM and Sokol’sky DOK (part of Investlesprom group of companies).

 

At three city-forming enterprises investment projects are on different levels of implementation.
The most cost-expensive from them — “Vologda Paper Manufacture” — is evaluated in 30 mlrd. rubles. In essence this is a construction at industrial platform of JSC “Sokol’sky PPM” of unique for Russia wide range coated paper production with 600 thous. tons per year capacity.
- Project’s realization will let to replace coated paper import in Russia almost for 100%, — underlined general director, JSC “Sokol’sky PPM”, Ekaterina Kosova. – Our shareholders are engaged into investors search – Investlesprom group of companies.
At that it is planned to apply nanotechnologies at new production (…)

(…)Out of three city-forming enterprises JSC “Sokol’sky DOK” advanced more than others in the process of modernization. According to general director, Valentina Petukhova, 358 mln. have already been invested into production out of 725 mln. rubles.
The start-up of 14 new drying chambers will let to increase enterprise’s profits and to feel more confidently both at domestic and foreign markets. Besides that glued-beam houses production is planned to be constructed at the mill (start-up is planned for the end of 2010), framed and panel structure house-building production (2012) and it is planned to modernize dressed and moulded goods workshop and bark and wastes boiler-house (…)
