Representatives of Ireland, Denmark, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Czech, Rumania, Ukraine as well as Investlesprom managing company arrived at Segezha to determine the objectives of paper purchase for Segezha Packaging enterprises for the year. In Russia such arrangement was held for the first time.
- In 2009 as one of the anti-crisis
measures there was implemented a maximum integration of Segezha Packaging’s and
JSC Segezha PPM’s enterprises of kraft-paper consumption,— tells director of
purchases, Sacks Division, JSC Investlesprom, Egor Aleshin.– In other words
plants had to use principally segezha’s paper in sacks production. The measure had
justified itself: total volume of consumed by Segezha Packaging division
enterprises paper of Segezha PPM’s production constituted 113 thousand
tons — this is 90 percent of total consumption volume. The situation
at the market has changed: the beginning of 2010 was marked by growth of demand
for sack paper. Mill’sstockofordersisfilledup. In this
connection there was made a decision to review the agreements with European kraft-paper
suppliers so that to get additional volumes of brown paper for foreign plants of
Segezha Packaging to ensure planned production volumes. At the meeting of wholesale
buyers concrete directions of this activity were discussed. During three days buyers
communicated tightly, discussed emerging problems, outlined new objectives. Within
the meeting some activities were planned for SPPM’s paper supply budget
execution. A seminar for segezha’s paper quality was held. WiththeparticipationoftransportmanagementofSPPMtherewerediscussedthepossibilitiesoflogisticsimprovementforpapersupplytoSegezhaPackagingplants. For a more complete notion of possibilities and prospects
of integration within Investlesprom group, Segezha PPM’s and Segezhskaya Upakovka’s
workers demonstrated to foreign guests the whole technological process of paper
and sack production beginning with raw wood preparation till pulp cooking. Within
the meeting there was organized a visit of buyers to forest allotments of SLZK
company, part of Investlesprom group.
Holding of meeting in Segezha in the general opinion of the participants became
another step to Segezha Packaging integration improvement.
