Investlesprom Group: Company’s strategic task coincides with the state forest policy

— Intensification of forest use and forest resources reproduction – is the strategic task of Investlesprom group that coincides with state forest policy objectives, - underlined in his report at the conference “Russian Wood Complex development: current status and perspectives” that was held within Saint-Petersburg International forest forum, director GR & PR department, Aleksandr Boikov. — According to company’s development strategy during next four years raw materials need will double. The planned more than triple increase of processing is connected with priority investment project (“Polar Bear”) implementation.

In his report Alexandr Boikov dwells in detail on measures taken by the company during last three years for the purpose of forest use intensification. The developed innovative project of target farming “Segezhskaya sosna” determines economically available forests, forms an optimal composition of plants, cutting period, improvement felling intensity. It is assumed that together with target farms development new timber technologies will be introduced which are oriented to selection felling, territories’ social infrastructure improvement due to roads construction, forests’ fireproof arrangement, population employment development.
 From 2007 till 2009 the company spent more than 800 mln rubles for equipment purchase for timber enterprises. At present Investlesprom group is one of the largest forest lessees in Russia: total area leased by the holding is about 6 mln. ha. Investlesprom unites more than 50 forest industry enterprises, 19 of them are timber industry enterprises.
 The policy of responsible forest management and usage was approved. By results of 2008 Investlesprom group entered the list of FSC certification leaders having got 8 certificates: forest management and delivery chain. Now two more certificates are being registered. About 4, 5 mln. hectares of certified by ILP forest lands make up a fifth part of all certified forests in Russia.
Having mentioned the existing range of limitations obstructing timber intensification both on federal and regional levels, Aleksandr Boikov informed that company’s proposals of innovation development in forest use are prepared and transmitted to authorities of all levels.
Important problems were opened in the course of panel discussion devoted to forest investments issues where technical director, Pulp&Paper industry division Investlesprom, Sergey Malkov performed with the report “Criteria of implementation of investments projects for development of profound processing of wood“. The speech of general director, OJSC “Onegaenergiya”, Alexandr Doykov, was devoted to “Onegaenergiya” project realization as a mechanism of Kyoto Protocol Joint Implementation.
At exhibition platform of International forest forum “Regions of Russia. Wood Industry Complex potential” within Vologda region exposition new products of “NLK-Domostroenie” company were presented — houses of glued beams of “Timbercom” mark developed by the company on the basis of latest technologies.
