Segezha PPM was returned the certificate

According to the information disposed in the certificates database at www.fsc-info.org website the FSC-certificate takes action anew (type Forest Management/Forest products Delivery Chain, № SGS-FM/COC-003092) issued for LLC “Northern Timber Company” (LLC “NTC”, Investlesprom Holding) for the forest fund management at Segezha Pulp & Paper Mill (SPPM) lease base.
The validity of the certificate was suspended on March, 2, 2009 after an additional audit which resulted in revealing failure to comply with the FSC-certification principles at the territory of SPPM lease base. One of the main problems that became the reason to withdraw the certificate was absence of the system of activities for detection and preservation of the High Conservational Value Forests (HCVF). The fact that LLC “NTC” managed to recover the certificate is surely a positive point showing that this enterprise is striving for becoming an ecologically responsible one in full. At present time LLC “NTC” informs that the enterprise is developing an effective activities system for detection and preservation of HCVF of all types at the territory under management. http://www.forest.ru/rus/news/index.php?id=508 |
