Ignition in the workshop of Thermo-mechanical Pulp, OJSC “PPM Kama”: culprits are identified

On September, 8 at 18.25 of local time, on execution of welding works oil-station and oiled filing inflamed in the workshop of thermo-mechanical pulp (TMP) of OJSC “PPM Kama”.

Operatively created special committee found out causes of fire and determined that ignition took place as a result of weld works execution that were not agreed with fire prevention and industry security services in defiance of safety standards and labour discipline rules.
As a consequence of oil and rags ignition the fire happened and covered the area up to 20 m².
Six units of equipment were directed to the place of the fire. The fire was done away during 30 minutes. There are no sufferers. The damage is being calculated.
The committee has already determined the culprits of the occurrence: chief of the workshop, mechanic and welder who decided to execute weld works in non-compliance with requirements of the Instruction for Safe Fiery works execution at the enterprise.
The culprits on the basis of PPM Kama General director’s order will be called to disciplinary liability. The Inspection of state fire supervision intends to call the Chief of the TMP workshop to administrative responsibility by the case of this fire.
