According to managing director of “Forest” division, Dmitrii Zuev, the project of effective forest use around PPM called “Segezhskaya sosna” until now and from 2002 is in the stage of scientific developments and adjustments: initial approvals of it by Rosleskhoz in connection with new Forest Code introduction need additional consideration. “At our expense we updated data bases, prepared our project of normative base, but federal departments including Rosleskhoz limit regional authorities in lawmaking”,— noted D. Zuev.
He underlined that for all PPMs of the country the most urgent is the question of lack of raw materials.
“The radius of European PPM procurement does not exceed 100 km while in Russia it is increasing slowly but steadily and now it is 500 or even 800 km that is evidently a threatening tendency. Our project can increase the efficiency of use of one hectare of adjacent forest to PPM from 0,3–0,4 cub.m. to one and a half”,— stated D. Zuev.
According to him the project “Segezhskaya sosna” takes into account all ecological standards and is approved by all ecological organizations of the region.
