In recent times banks have become to show unprecedented until now activity by willingly investing money into forest productions construction and modernization. So Bank of Moscow actively finance the activity of Investlesprom holding (key asset – Segezha PPM) that unites several pulp and paper and woodworking enterprises in Karelia, Kirov, Vologda regions and at Perm’ territory. According to experts’ estimates Bank of Moscow in next two years will spend about $500–600 mln for modernization of its assets and for new acquisitions in forest industry.

The brightest event of 2007 became the emergence at the scene of the forest industry holding “Investlesprom” created under financial partnership of Bank of Moscow. Process of buying-up and consolidation of the assets began in 2005 when the bank acquired Novovyatsk wood industry complex (NWIC) in Kirov and PPM “Kama” in Perm’. But the main interests of the new player focused on the territory of North-West federal district. At the same time in 2005 bank was among lenders of Segezha PPM (Karelia) for the purchase of the Swedish packaging company Korsnаs Packaging, and subsequently became the owner of Segezha mill. On the basis of the acquired mill there was created Segezha Packaging company that became part of Investlesprom and that is on the second place in the world by paper sacks production. The company continued to expand capacities – in September 2007 Segezha Packaging completed Turkish company purchase transaction - Isiklar Ambalaj – being owner of two cement sacks production plants and in December it began the construction of the similar production in Saransk (Mordovia).
